Frequently asked questions
Short answers for the questions that usually come up during setup, imports, Gmail connection, billing, and security review.
Can I use Vanta CRM before connecting Gmail?
Yes. You can create contacts, leads, pipeline stages, notes, activities, projects, quotations, and reports without Gmail. Connect Gmail when you want sent mail and replies to sync back into the CRM timeline.
What Gmail permissions does Vanta CRM request?
The app requests gmail.send, gmail.readonly, calendar.readonly, and basic profile scopes. Sent emails require your confirmation, and inbound mail is matched to CRM contacts/leads before it is stored.
Read the Gmail setup guideCan I import from another CRM?
Yes. The import tool supports CSV files for leads and contacts, with presets for common HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Salesforce exports. Excel files should be exported as CSV before upload.
See import instructionsHow does the free trial work?
Trials are workspace-based. Billing status, trial timing, current seats, and portal actions are shown in Billing settings once billing is enabled for the tenant.
Review billing and trial termsDoes each teammate count as a paid seat?
Yes. Active accepted users count toward the workspace seat total. Pending invite behavior depends on the current billing flag configuration, and the app reconciles seats with Stripe.
Can I export or delete my workspace data?
Workspace admins can export tenant data and request workspace deletion from Settings. Deletion is handled as a soft-delete first, then finalized by the hard-delete cron after the retention window.
What should I do if Vanta CRM will not load at work?
Corporate firewalls sometimes intercept TLS or block Vercel/Supabase traffic. The network guide has the domains and symptoms your IT team needs.
Open network troubleshootingWhere do I report a vulnerability or security issue?
Use the security reporting contact listed in the support and incidents policy. Include impact, affected URL, reproduction steps, and whether customer data may be involved.
